19th Century ornate stove by Faure of Revin |

|
Occasionally we find a stove that surprises and delights us with its beauty and distinctive quality. This 19thC stove by the well known manufacturer Faure Revin, is one of them. It came straight out of a Chateau in the Dordogne. The previous owner tells us that it dates from the mid 1800's. It is extremely unique having three opening doors and one non opening door (at the back) to the top of the firebox, and three opening doors and one non opening door (at the back) to the bottom of the firebox. All of the doors have mica in them so the flames can be seen from any angle. Even the ash box doors are finished to an unusually high standard. It is quite tall - 118 cms/ 46 ½” and it is 58.5 cms/ 23” in diameter at its widest point, being at the feet. It is 47cms/18 ½” in diameter just above the feet. The flue is 10cms/4” in diameter. The casting has a highly ornamental theme throughout and the feet are cast in an attractive scroll design.
The bonus with this stove is that it has had a complete overhaul and is immaculate and ready to use. The mica has been replaced in all of the doors. This stove would add grandeur to any period home and would compliment an elegant conservatory.
This is a rare opportunity to own a working, living individual piece of French 19th C history. Stoves like this one do not come on the market often so we advise you to bid early to avoid disappointment.
