"La Salamandre" T.A.M. 2 model
French wood-burning stove by E Chaboche of Paris, from the Art Deco period, manufactured sometime between 1925 and 1933
The colour is that lovely natural bottle green colour and would enhance any period drawing room, dining room or even the modern minimalist room.
It also has a fantastic feature: it's on roulettes (wheels) and has a porcelain handle on the top so it can be moved from room to room even when lit.
The stove has a salamander motif in the casting on the top of the door which really adds to its beauty & charm. It's in very good condition, the firebox, grate and riddler are all in full functioning order. There are one or two small chips to the enamel, which is to be expected for a piece that is over 70 years old. It is designed to burn a combination of wood, wood/coal or just coal.
Please note: the mica has been completely replaced.
This is a quality stove from a quality manufacturer and the engineering stands the test of time - it is both a beautiful, living piece of furniture and at the same time, a functional heating element for your home.

"The SALAMANDRE STOVE Co" existed from about 1924. It was situated in the middle of London, at 255 Tottenham Court Road (W1)about 500m from the British Museum.
The UK was probably the country outside of France where the greatest numbers of Salamanders were sold.
