Wood/Log Burning stove

By Coste Cau Martin

Price: £395

A pretty little "skyscraper" wood burning stove with a heat chamber built in to the top of the firebox in a pretty mid blue enamel.

It is from the immediate post war period, when the French manufacturers started making what we now call the minimalist/modernist look. This stove was way ahead of its time.....the upper heat chamber uses a technology to distribute the flu gasses that is widely in use in today's modern wood burning stove.

It was made by the venerable old firm of Coste. It is in superb condition without a mark, and the firebox is in excellent condition and benefits from all round firebrick lining.

The Lid lifts off to reveal a hotplate for slow cooking a "pot au feu" or simply boiling a kettle.

Wood is loaded through the door on the right and can take logs of up to 15" long.

The dimensions are:

56cms (22”)H x 50cms (19½”) W x 30cms (11¾”) D and the flue size is 11cms (3½”) and it is 37cms (14½") from the floor. Output is around 3kw
